Hydro Thunder is a boat racing game where players select from various boats with different stats and race through creative locales like the arctic, a tropical island, and even a ruined city. There is a boost mechanic that runs on boost pick ups that are placed in specific locations on each level. There is also a secret "hydro jump" technique to learn involving braking and then immediately using boost with the right timing. Boats and levels are both categorized into easy, medium, hard, and bonus sections. The harder a boat is to control, the faster its overall top speed is. There are a total of thirteen levels and boats in the game. Hydro Thunder is a cult classic among many arcade racing fans and is well worth playing.

Great graphics and arcade gameplay from the thunder series of games from Midway, pilot a speedboat and race to the finish line while using various power-ups and finding surprise shortcuts to help you win the race, fun gameplay and lots of tracks will keep you busy for a while.
